About Me

Profile

Hello everyone! My name is Trenton Johnson, and my passion for technology has been a defining part of my life for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I found myself fascinated by computers and how they worked. I vividly recall being captivated by the family PC in our home—I was always eager to take it apart, not out of mischief, but out of a genuine curiosity to understand what was going on inside the machine.

There was something incredibly exciting about discovering how all the components fit together and contributed to making the system function. I even went as far as intentionally breaking things on the computer, just to challenge myself to fix them. These little experiments, though frustrating at times, taught me problem-solving, perseverance, and sparked a desire to keep learning more.

Over time, what started as a simple curiosity grew into a true passion. I began to see technology not just as a hobby, but as a field full of endless possibilities and opportunities to innovate. It became clear to me that this wasn’t just something I enjoyed—it was something I wanted to pursue as a career. That realization has driven me to continue developing my skills and finding ways to contribute meaningfully to the tech world.

Starting my Senior year of High School, I enrolled in a Cisco Academy class, where I learned the ins and outs of all things networking, earning a certificate at the end of the year for Most Impressive Cisco Academy Student. After graduating High School, I started taking courses at San Antonio College, eventually earning my Associate’s degree in Computer Network Administration. While enrolled in San Antonio College, this is where I also started my career in IT, learning all things Windows and Linux Server Administration.

During my time at San Antonio College, I participated in a few Cyber Security events, which really piqued my interest. So much so, that I began attending Texas A&M University – San Antonio, pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Security.

Over my career, I have performed Systems Administration for many companies, including WordPress, Shazam, and Zulily.

If there is one thing I would tell anyone who want to learn more about IT or any field they aren’t familiar with, it would be to understand early that you will not know everything, and don’t be afraid to not only ask questions, but accept feedback from colleagues regarding other ways to view/fix things.

If there is anything else you would like to know about me, feel free to ask!
